Text Box: RVMGC Go-Low Challenge
Details:
The Go-Low Challenge was patterned after the PGA Tour’s Kodak Challenge from 2009. The challenge will take place over the course of our 2010 tournament calendar and will be played over 18 holes. The challenge will be played at net and will be on randomly drawn holes prior to tournament days.

The challenge will start on January 9th and will end with the tournament in December. The challenge will not involve any of our team events or our away tournaments. There will be one hole chosen from the regular tournaments in January, April, May, June, November & December for a total of 6 holes. There will be two holes chosen from all four Majors (1 front & 1 back), including two holes from each day of the Club Championship stroke play totaling 12 holes. This will give us our 18 holes for the challenge.

To be eligible to win the challenge you will have to play a minimum of 12 holes. The challenge will be a running total of your net scores on the randomly drawn holes. To keep the challenge fair for everyone who chooses to play, the most anyone can take on any given hole is a bogie (+1 net). The idea behind the challenge is to boost participation in our tournaments and give our members something else to play for other than our point’s race, which will still be in place. Since the most you can take on any given hole is +1 net, anyone not involved with the listed tournaments will be given a score of +1.5 for any tournament missed. This will reward the players who participate and not be an advantage to those who choose not to play.

The winner of the Go-Low Challenge will receive a 2011 Men’s Club Membership along with a Players Club ($75.00) awarded by the course. This will also be awarded to our 2010 Points leader as well. In the event the Point’s Leader wins the Challenge, it will go to the second place person in the Challenge. In the event there is a tie in the challenge the last day, it will go to the player with the lowest net score for the last tournament played.
